This Just In: News On The Home Market!

We recently read a very interesting article on The Metro Study Report blog. The article discusses how we are just seeing the beginning of a new home buying demand in the worst-hit of markets. In many markets, there are buyers who figuring out that they may lose their chance if they don’t buy now.

Now it is also said that the majority of buyers, even in moderately-priced new-home projects, are buying with cash. The Generation X generally doesn’t have the savings. “The buyers are often Boomers who are five years away from retirement, and they have cash.” (Metro Study Report)

“There are fewer people who can get mortgages and have no choice but to buy with a mortgage. If people bought their homes 25 years ago, they have a lot of home equity, and once they give up on the notion that they want to hold out for a return to 2006 values, they will sell their homes and have the down payment for a new retirement home in the sun.” (Metro Study Report)
